Thank you for smoking
I like the talking over music.
I can have the 'cult initiation' video talking over some 'happy music'
Capitu
using a more complicated collaging technique to create a sort of start stop animation where the objects in the animation seem to be moving.
I think its really clever, the video was done so that it looks like the pages are being torn away into deeper layers.
beautiful
The Stone of The Kingdom
This is kind of perfect.
NOTE ( what u love):
The camera's constant travels into the screen. it makes you feel like you're entering some kind of room or falling into a whole and getting deeper deeper into this multi layered. almost like into a different world.
The spinning assets also makes the animation more kinetic.
Its quite surreal and psychedelic. The illustrations are textured. I think I can do somethign similar by scanning textured paper in or something and make some kinda of collage.
I'm not sure what this theme is...its kind of gypsy-esque.

So, I want to take 1 belief/teaching/ethics from a few of these cults and animate them.
So....
Scientology :
"In the Scientology doctrine, Xenu is a galactic ruler who, 75 million years ago, brought billions of people to Earth, stacked them around volcanoes and blew them up with hydrogen bombs
Their souls then clustered together and stuck to the bodies of the living. These events are known as "Incident II" or "The Wall of Fire," and the traumatic memories associated with them are known as the "R6 implant." The Xenu story prompted the use of the volcano as a Scientology symbol. "
Church of all worlds:
The founder, Oberon Zell-Ravenheart, founded The Grey School of Wizardry, an online school inspired by Hogwarts school from Harry Potter
Prince Phillip Movement:
The Yaohnanen believe that Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh, the consort to Queen Elizabeth II, is a divine being, the pale-skinned son of a mountain spirit and brother of John Frum.
Nuwaubianism
- People were once perfectly symmetrical and ambidextrous, but then a meteorite struck Earth and tilted its axis causing handedness and shifting the heart off-center in the chest
-Each of us has seven clones living in different parts of the world
-Women existed for many generations before they invented men through genetic manipulation
-Homosapiens is the result of cloning experiments that were done on Mars using Homo erectus
Heaven's Gate
founded and led by Marshall Applewhite (1931–1997) and Bonnie Nettles (1928–1985)
They believe that about 2000 years ago, a group of extra-terrestrials came to earth from the Kingdom of Heaven (the "Next Level"). One of these was "Do". He was given instructions by "Ti", his female companion, whom he referred to as his "Heavenly Father." He left his body behind, transported to Earth in a space-ship, and incarnated (moved into) a human body, that of Jesus Christ. A second group of extra-terrestrials returned to earth, starting in the 1920's. Do was the Captain of this expedition; Ti was the Admiral. They each moved into a human body, but somehow became scattered. Do and Ti held public meetings to disseminate their beliefs. They were pleasantly surprised to find that most of their converts were the long-lost crew members.
Members called themselves brother and sister; they looked upon themselves as monks and nuns; they lived communally in a large, rented San Diego County (CA) home which they called their monastery. Most members had little contact with their families of origin or with their neighbors. Many followed successful professional careers before entering the group. Some abandoned their children before joining. They were free to leave at any time. They dressed in unisex garments: shapeless black shirts with Mandarin collars, and black pants. They were required commit themselves to a celibate life. Eight of the male members, including Do, submitted to voluntary castration
Raelism
Raëlism is a UFO religion that was founded in 1974 by Claude Vorilhon, now known as Raël. Raëlism has been described as "the largest UFO religion in the world". In academic circles, the religion is also known as the Raëlian Church.
The Raelian Movement teaches that life on Earth was scientifically created by a species of extraterrestrials, which they call the Elohim. Members of this species appeared human and when having personal contacts with the descendants of the humans they made, they were mistaken for angels, cherubim or gods. Raëlians believe messengers, or prophets, of the Elohim include Buddha, Jesus, and many others who informed humans of each era. The founder of Raëlism, members claim, received the final message of the Elohim and that its purpose is to pacify and inform the world about Elohim and that if humans become peaceful enough, they wish to be welcome by them.
Within the Raëlian Church, there is a quasi-clerical structure with a height of seven levels (Vorilhon is at the highest level). Joining the movement involves a transmission ceremony as well as an official apostasy from other religions in recognition of Elohim, as the creators of life from the heavens.
Members are asked to follow the Raëlian ideals that speak against the use of recreational drugs, tobacco, coffee and limit alcohol to moderation, if at all. Sexuality is an important part of the Raëlian doctrine, though Raëlians recommend a non-contractual agreement between mature sexual partners. The Raëlian Church has attracted some of its priests and bishops from other religions despite having liberal views of sexuality. These views are shared by women who make up a significant minority in Raëlian Church. Some of these women are strong advocates of refinement and erotic sensualism and participate in groups within such as "Rael's Girls" and the "Order of Angels".
they believe that E.T have visited earth before during the times of our ancesters but were mistaken as cherubs, angles, etc
the Russian cult of gadget Hackenwrench
The members of this cult believe in a Disney cartoon character called Gadget Hackerwrench from the "Disney's Rescue Ranger" TV show, as being a divine being. She is considered to be the most untouched and perfect sibling of the great god of earth. The members of the Gadget Hackerwrench cult fervently believe that she is some sort of goddess. They consider her to be firm, adorable and sanguine and that her degree of technical knowledge is practically unachievable for any existing mortal being.
Ho No Hana Sanpogyo
his Japanese cult was created by Hogen Fukunaga. It is often referred to as the “foot reading cult,” as the founder of this cult believed that he could make a diagnosis by examining people’s feet.
The Church of Maradona
Unlike other normal fan clubs, this cult has many rituals like naming their children Diego to literally worshipping him. Arguably the best footballer to have lived, he is officially a god in Argentina. Supporters of the Maradonian Church, allegedly from all corners of the world, count the years since Maradona’s birth in 1960. It is very popular amid the followers of this cult and also amongst other football fans, the use of neo-Tetragrammaton D10S as one of the names of Maradona. D10S is a portmanteau word which blends 10 (diez in Spanish), Maradona’s shirt number and dios, the Spanish word for god. The cult has its own commandments, one of which states, “Spread news of Dieogo’s miracles” and apart from naming your son Diego, it is a commandment as well to change your middle name to “Diego”.
The Church of Maradona's ten commandments
1. The ball is never soiled.
2. Love football above all else.
3. Declare unconditional love for Diego and the beauty of football.
4. Defend the Argentina shirt.
5. Spread the news of Diego's miracles throughout the universe.
6. Honour the temples where he played and his sacred shirts.
7. Don't proclaim Diego as a member of any single team.
8. Preach and spread the principles of the Church of Maradona.
9. Make Diego your middle name.
10. Name your first son Diego.
Jediism is a post-modern religious movement based upon the philosophical and spiritual ideas of the Jedi as depicted in Star Wars media,[1][2] popularized by the Holyhead-based 'Church of Jediism
MISSION STATEMENT
We are a caring and supportive spiritual community that helps individuals worldwide to attain and sustain a one-to-one relationship with the Light of their own true Inner Self and therefore reconnect to their own True Divine Nature to which we refer to as Jedi. We teach a path of soul liberation through inner mastery and outer accomplishment as sons and daughters of the Light and of freedom. We celebrate and embrace the teachings of Jediism and the truths of the world's major religions. Our community is built upon the rock of truth, divine love and the light of inner illumination. We promote service to others based on the understanding that we are all one, and welcome all to worship with us in a spirit of peace and unity.
Jediism's mission, in short, is to reaffirm and restore the knowledge of the True Inner Self (which we refer to as Jedi) and invite all to a personal faith in the Light, which encompasses the Light Side of the Force celebrated by numerous religious and philosophical beliefs that span over five thousand years of human history. We desire to build up an international worldwide community of Jediism and to draw true Jedi Knights together into a spirit of common unity. Our goal is encouragement and as guidance for believers while reaching beyond the Jedi Temple to those who are seeking to know the truth that sets one free. Jediism is for those seeking answers and practical steps to living life to the fullest as the Light intended through personal Jediism faith that sets one free.
We believe in the path of the true Jedi Knights, and with it the Code of Jediism, as twin pillars on the path of community illumination and personal enlightenment for all. Our intention is to make a difference by helping people rediscover the real values that inspire illumined action and create an atmosphere of enlightenment and peace, internally and simultaneously in our international community.
